This is just a brief note as somewhat of a follow-up to the opening article in our recent newsletter. The article wrote of new regulatory mandates by CMS in the area of Emergency Preparedness which have gone into effect.  The safety of our residents continues to be our top priority.  We have enclosed for your review, a two page informational sheet sharing how St. Gerard’s Community of Care prepares for emergencies.  It provides you with information as to how we would communicate with you in case of an emergency and provides contact numbers and options available to you.  There is also information regarding procedures and terms you may hear such as “evacuation” versus “shelter-in-place”.  Our goal in providing you this information is to keep you informed and confident that we are prepared to keep your loved one safe in the event of an emergency.
